The following details have been supplied by the employer: “We have an established apprenticeship programme that has already produced two skilled engineers. We are committed to continuing this programme to secure long-term success. We want to continue to develop our apprentices with a view to expanding our qualified workforce.
Under the apprenticeship candidates will learn how to program, set and operate a range of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery whilst working towards SCQF 5/6 (Level 2 /3).
On completion of the SVQ level 2 PIA you will move onto the SVQ level 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship.
This employer has specified applicants must have a National Certificate or Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Discipline to be considered for this vacancy other qualifications include subjects at National 4 or equivalent. If you have good grades in Highers/National 5 this is an advantage.
You will become an integral part of the team, assisting and learning from senior colleagues • Learn to use set and operate multi axis mill/turn centres whilst progressing through your qualification • Learn to self-inspect complex parts using mechanical inspection equipment • Responsibilities also include Goods Outwards - inspecting, organising and packaging orders.
