The Job
You must be currently employed in a childcare role and work over 16 hours a week and not be at college or any other further education.
Training
Your assessor will support you through your qualification. There is lots of theory to learn and being with small children can be hard work.
Qualification Achieved
SVQ Levels 2 - 4: Children`s Care, Learning and Development (plus additional units from the early years childcare qualification)

It is always useful to have some Standard grades. But you do not need to have them to apply.
It is possible for you to progress to a nursery manager when you have your Level 3 qualification. Some employers may expect you to take further qualifications in management.
You will have a training assessor who will visit you at least once a month. They will assess you while in your placment there is no need to go to college.
